Shade&Light

The work presented involves analyzing existing terrace shading and lighting products, along with end-user needs. The goal of this diploma work is to design a modern terrace product that combines shading and lighting using renewable energy. This product aims to extend the interior to the exterior, enhancing outdoor living. Using terraces of nine Jelovica houses as a reference, a survey of end-user preferences and a market analysis of sunshade systems were conducted. The conceptual phase included moodboard creation, sketches, models, and final concept refinement. Wind resistance calculations for the support arms determined the final model's dimensions. Electrical circuit elements powering LEDs with solar panels were incorporated. Visualization and demonstration of the sunshade's use, along with detailed component descriptions, were provided. The Shade&Light sunshade suits modern terraces, offering shading, lighting, renewable energy use, quality lighting, cost efficiency, minimal construction elements, modularity, and easy installation.
